For this B&Q spot McCanns London wanted to use a song rather than a considered composition. In addition, the lyrics needed to very subtly suggest togetherness and cultivation as the campaign is all about getting families out in the garden making houses into homes. And so we briefed composers without mentioning the brand, duration of ads, or what was happening visually so they could write a song to whatever length with more freedom.
