Sound Design & Composition for Sky Cinema Classics
We were commissioned by Angelfish to produce the music and sound design for a series of films, promoting the Sergio Leone season for Italian channel Sky Classics.
The challenge was to somehow use everyday sounds in a musical way - to take them out of the mundane and ensure that they conveyed so much more than just the sum of their parts.
We re-created Ennio Morricone's score 'The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly' by manipulating sounds from the everyday, using pitching and morphing software, to perfectly replicate the iconic piece. Industry press about the project at the time was quoted: ’If the sound of boiling kettles, hairdryers, frying fish and a woman having a painful bikini wax seems like anything but music to your ears, prepare to be amazed’.
The work won a Promax UK Gold Award in the Best Music or Sound Design category.
