The Power of Purity

Aquafina’s latest film celebrates the power of purity, made in collaboration with Lay Zhang, a rapper, director, dancer, and actor, who currently appears 5th in the Forbes China Celebrity 100 list. 

The film exudes a sense of tranquility and composure within chaos, with Lay appearing in a surreal and sparse, ice-ridden environment before falling through the ice into a bubbling aquatic environment, the opening calm transformed into an energetic dance scene.

We were brought on board at script stage, visualising the director, Zou Fei’s intention to create a sonic world and audio treatment that would inform the filming. Once the film was shot we composed a track that reflects the calm opening, with an impressionistic piano opening, before a drop that takes it into frenetic, future bass territory.
